In 1920 Carl Hammond, Sr. started Hammond's Candy Company in Denver, Colorado. It is still in operation and using some of the original candy making equipment today. Proud of their sweets, the company offers free tours of the factory.
Candy? Yes, we will!
These candy makers were hard at work making hard candy that would eventually become lollipops.
In a different section, candy canes were being pulled, cut, and bent.
This was hard candy being pulled. This was the step in which the flavor was added.
Tourist with a sweet tooth.
Theses employees were working on packaging peanut butter cups.
The machine was giving them trouble but they kept at it.
We each got a lollipop at the conclusion of the tour.
(Ed and I left ours for Sue's two granddaughters to enjoy.)
Inside the candy store......
It was a fun tour. Thanks Hammond's Candy Company!
