Izzy Pop

Meet the newest Limbaugh family member, Izzy Pop! This sweet little girl comes to us from the Pflugerville Animal Shelter. She won her new daddy's heart at first glance.... and we weren't even looking for another baby! It just happened!
Did you notice we have a thing for short vowel names? We now have, in our doggy kids, Andy, Ellie, and Izzy.

BBQ Birthday Celebration

On my birthday night, April 20th, we met up with a cast of colorful characters, I call my friends, to celebrate my uhhhh...39th...uhhhh, birthday! Salt Lick in Round Rock had a party room ready and waiting! Lots of BBQ too! Yum!

Let me just say, many of the pictures from the night are hilarious! Ed started out with the camera and at some point it fell into Dane's hands. Cross yourselves now, it ain't pretty. Oh, but I guess I don't have to actually post all the picture of bald spots, ears, chins, and butts that Dane took, now do I?

Let's start with the cast of characters-
 Now some table length shots-
A lovely trio of before, during and after 2 1/2 margaritas! Hey- don't judge! It is was my birthday!!
(Thanks to Eric, Terrence, and Shannon for ordering for me. Cough, cough!)
 buzzzzzzzz

Now, I could choose to not relay this next little story but I know if I don't talk about it, the witnesses will! So, here it goes....  I was visiting guests at the end of the long table when the waiter came out with the cake and 5 lit candles. Delighted, I began to run back to my seat. IMPORTANT NOTE- I was in flip-flops! And as I ran down the long stretch of the table, I came out of one flip flop and went down! Luckily, I didn't crash on my face, instead, I landed on my knees and hit a bench with one arm. Ouch! I didn't even lose my birthday crown! What a champ! But never one to  spoil the party, I bounced back up laughing all the way and prepared for birthday cake. Aren't I so glad Ed shot this next set of pictures? (No, not really! But, oh, well!) The photos start immediately after the fall! (Yes, Michael Olivarez, I see you laughing at me!)
Whew! I live to make another birthday wish!
That was a close one!
So there you have the big night in all it's craziness! We came home so I could clean the blood off my knees and ice them down.

I only had a total of 6 bruises from the fall. Today, I only have lovely shades of "bruise" on one knee as any sign that the RWI (running while intoxicated) ever happened!

Happy birthday to me!

National Anthem

On Saturday, April 20th, Sally Stone, Jennifer Schaffer and I sang the National Anthem at the opening of Relay For Life. The event was held at the Pflugerville High School Stadium.

As we are waiting for our big moment, I spied Ed snapping photos!
They introduced us as "Highland Park Teacher Trio," to which I say "Ish."
 In marches the color guard.
 And sing, we did!
I think we sounded wonderful!!!

Dogs & Bluebonnets

Dane and I took Andy and Ellie out to a field of bluebonnets to try to get some cute pictures of my babies.  We had to walk across a long field to get to the flowers, which worked out well, as it gave the pups a chance to run, sniff, and pee on everything along the way.

I am happy to say I got some great pics. I am posting the best of them.

Mixed flower pics
It is a miracle that we some how got them to sit for a pic or two!
Andy was sniffling around for something good!
Ellie takes a break from all the modeling!
Meanwhile, my helper Dane, who was supposed to be my "dog handler," had some fun of his own with a beach towel we had brought along for "just in case."
Busted! He spies the lens on him!
My helper became "Super Kid" thanks to the wind!
Back to Ellie and Andy- Love these pup faces!
And one final picture that makes Dane and me laugh!
Silly Ellie!

Foreigner Concert

On Monday, April 15th, Christie, Michelle, and I drove down to San Antonio where we met Chanda at the Iron Cactus on the River Walk. We had a lingering meal and lots of fun chatting as we waited for the clock to strike 7pm. At 7pm, we walked over to the  Majestic Theatre, pumped and ready to rock with Foreigner!! (Disclosure- these photos were all taken with my phone camera so the quality is not great.)
Tickets!
 Outside of the Majestic theatre!
 Show time!
This photo was taken from our seats that were 10 rows back and center.
After the first two songs, Kelly Hansen, invited fans to come to the stage and off I went! I didn't even think twice! I just went for it! The shots show how close I was! Literally one person removed from the stage but able to lay my hand on the stage and more importantly, on Kelly Hansen! Four times! Including once when he held my hand as he sang a line to me! Ahh!! So fabulous! So thrilling! And a great rockin' show!
Kelly Hansen and the amazing guitarist, Jeff Pilson!
The founding band member and Songwriters Hall of Fame, Mick Jones!
The drummer put on a fun and fabulous solo show!
The beginning of, I Want to Know What Love Is. And the end of the concert.
I stayed at the stage until the very end! I was sweaty and excited! (And I was sure Mason would be proud of me for rushing to the stage and rockin' out with the other fans!) The other girls couldn't leave without me because I had the keys in my pocket! Ha! We drove back home to Pflugerville only stopping at Bucky's for a potty break, a drink, and some Cherry Smoked Beef Jerky!

I had a wonderful time! I love Foreigner more now than I did in my teen years.
