Zilker Tree Lighting

We attended the Lighting Ceremony of the Zilker Tree on Sunday, Dec. 6th. The weather was a little bit misty and cool. Click HERE to read more about the history of the Zilker Tree.

This post will be told in photos. I took 101 photos in that hour and 1/2! Here are the best for you viewing pleasure!

Before the ceremony, lights off.
View from underneath the tree, looking up the Moolight Tower.
Ed buys some of the yummiest Kettle Korn ever!
By the way, Dane repeatedly told us that the word "Korn" was misspelled! It really seemed to bug him!
The boys and I checking out the bon fire.
Dane brought his own money so he would be sure to
get some hot chocolate!
He did, and it was yum!
Mason munches on fresh warm Kettle Korn.
Clark listens to the band playing Christmas music.
Ed and Dane watch the elementary school choir until.......
....Ed starts to sing!
Judy Maggio, a long time Austin News Anchor,
shares a few words.
The switch is flipped.......
.... the lights come on!
If you look up and spin, you get dizzy.
That is part of the fun of the tree.
Mason spins Dane.
Ed spins Mason.
The boys spin togther.
Clark takes a photo.
These next photos are fun photos
of the lights with an open shutter!

Cool, huh?
And the bon fire......

Lastly, the tree all lit up from the parking lot.
It really is a beautiful sight.
We had a great time.
This outing was our first Christmas event of this season!
