Art Camp

Dane loves art! Just ask him! He will tell you that he loves to be creative and loves painting!

Luckily, we found a little "art club" at the Clay Madsen Recreation Center. For four weeks on Tuesday afternoons, Dane will go to Absolutely Art Class.

Today was his first class. There are 4 boys and 5 girls plus a spunky female teacher and a male assistant.

The young artists made two projects today. One was a paper fan that involved folding, cutting, and painting. The second was a white tile that was painted any way they wished. Dane painted his tile in "abstract form." He told me those words at the end of class when he told me all about his tile.

At the end of class, all the young artists gather with their projects in a circle. Each artist tells the group about his/her work. Then the teacher asks for compliments from the others. She even got the kids to be specific about their compliment, not just "that is cute." They will do this at the end of each class. I like that!
