Fancy Strawberries

Tonight we were preparing for the Valentine's parties at school. We have worked on valentines for classmates all week and tonight the boys finished their own valentine boxes. Clark is even taking some candy to pass out to friends tomorrow.

Dane, Mas, and I went to HEB to get their food contributions to the class parties. Dane's class will be making ice cream sundaes. We are taking the maraschino cherries. Mason's class just wanted snacks so Mas signed up to take Cheese Puffs.

Walking into HEB was like walking into a flower filled dream world! They had HUGE balloon bouquets all over the front of the store, cut flowers, and potted flowers that smelled so delightful. There were huge boxes of chocolates and stuffed animals.... every kind you can imagine. It was a red and pink heaven! They even had a chocolate strawberry station with workers dipping the berries on site. People were lined up to buy them.

Walking through that decor was kind of neat but coming out on the other side, I was struck with the thought that I had not gotten anything for the little boys' teachers!!! So we 3 went straight to the fruit section and picked up two cartons of strawberries with plans to dip our own.

In the end, Dane was the only one who helped me. He used the white ball sprinkles and the red berry sprinkles to decorate some of the berries. Mason cooked the burgers for dinner instead.

Here is a picture of some of the fancy strawberries boxed up for the teachers. (We had so many that we are taking an assortment to the office staff too.) The colors are so bright and cheery. It is almost a shame to eat them. Almost........ ;-)

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone!
