Thanksgiving 2008

We drove to New Braunfels, Texas, for Thanksgiving Day. There were 16 people all together. Everyone brought a dish or two and Granlally made the turkey & ham. It was all really good! I especially enjoyed the shredded brussel sprout dish Aunt Laurie made. We took fresh green beans (that Clark and Dane helped snap), mashed potatoes (that Mason and Ed peeled), fresh fruit, and a Chocolate Fudge Swirled Bundt.

After we ate, it was Skipbo time for the young and hip. The old and testosterone laden went upstairs to watch football. (You know who you are!) A game of Sorry Revenge was happening at another table.

Clark, Granlally, and Alyssa playing Skipbo.
My niece, Alyssa, burns brain cells as she figures out her next play.

My Oma, and her neighbor, Carol, play Sorry Revenge.

Ed, Dane, and Aunt Laurie play too.

After the first round of games, we called everyone down for the "Quarter Game" also know as the "Left-Right Game," and the "Dollar Game." Since it is family, we play cheap- only three quarters to play. This time, Clark won the game, landing him a pocket full of $7.50 in quarters! Too bad he doesn't have a car that needs to be washed!

At Jennings family gatherings there is usually a game of "Pile On," almost always initiated by Grandad. This time, he just sat on people. In this photo he sits on Alyssa. Lucky her!

I didn't get any pictures of the Johns, Phillip, or Janet & Bill. I also missed getting any photos of the guys playing guitars.

We left as it began to get dark. We stopped by "Santa's Ranch" for the drive through light display. The boys love the display. It has become a tradition, as this is our4th year to visit on Thanksgiving Night.

Happy Thanksgiving!
