Dane and I drove over to the Arboretum area to meet up with Mason, who had spent a couple of nights with Nanny. We went to the duck pond to feed the ducks and geese. The birds swam across the pond to see what we had to feed them.
Nanny feeds the first ducks to come over some old bread.
Dane bravely reached out with a little cracker.
This goose has blue eyes!!!
Ed was home sick so I purposefully kept the boys out longer so he could rest peacefully. We decided to go hang out at Chick-Fil-A on Parmer and MoPac. Turns out Tuesdays from 5pm to 8pm are Family Night. Besides free kid's meals with the purchase of a combo, and free ice cream, there was entertainment in the form of a clown. Ms. Jelly Bean, the clown, talked with the kids, made balloon animals, and face/body painted. My boys are not usually into any of that. Tonight though, Dane and Mason joined in.
Dane, wearing his penguin shirt from the Tennessee Aquarium, asked for a penguin balloon animal and a penguin arm painting. Ms. Jelly Bean made Dane a cute balloon penguin that can be worn on the wrist.Mason asked for a guitar arm painting. Ms. Jelly Bean made him a guitar balloon sculpture but Mas wasn't impressed. He ditched it as soon as he could!
I know a lot of people with little kids read this blog. Mark your calendars for Tuesdays at this particular Chick-Fil-A on Palmer & MoPac. You too, can enjoy Family Night.
Also note that July 11th is "Cow Appreciation Night." Anyone who dresses up as a cow gets a free combo meal. Mason says he is going to do it. He has been tossing around some ideas for costumes. If he does, you KNOW the mamarotzi will get a shot! Ha!
