Chattanooga Choo Choo & More

We made it to Chattanooga, Tennessee about 11:00am eastern standard time. (We lost an hour coming over the mountain pass.) Check out these wildflower pics. I had Ed pull over on the side of the I-24 so I could take shots of these beauties.
Poppies, maybe?

Don and Myra drove in from Alabama to meet us. We hooked up with them & Jenny for lunch in the Choo Choo Hotel Gardens Restaurant. (Kid's eat free for the entire length of our stay! Yipee!) The kids got free engineer caps as part of our package. Choo! Choo!
Also included in our package were tickets to the Tennessee Aquarium and the IMAX. We rode an electric trolley car from the hotel to the downtown area. We saw the Dolphins & Whales IMAX movie in 3-D. Then we headed over to the absolute BEST aquarium EVER! Hands down!

There are two different buildings to the Aquarium. There is the Riverfront Building and the Oceanfront Building. They are equally amazing! In both, you ride escalators waaaaaaay up! You work your way down from there. Here are some of my favorite pics from the experience.

The Butterfly House.
We no more than walked in the door when this big butterfly landed on Dane's back.

A great shot of a UT colored butterfly.I was touched with luck too!

The boys and cousin Jenny in front of the penguin exhibit. The gang.....
A Shark shadow as he swam over our heads. Scary!!

A favorite photo of mine.

The boys found a neat way to look at sea life.
After the Aquarium we headed back to our hotel by electric trolley. Papa Charlie was waiting for us. He drove in from Manchester, TN. We had dinner in..you guessed it, The Gardens Restaurant!

It was dark when we left the restaurant but we managed to get in a picture in front of the Chattanooga Choo Choo itself! You can just make out the engine in the background.

Another favorite photo of mine!
We ended the night with a swim in one of the three pools on the 24 acre property. Papa Charlie headed back to Manchester. All the rest of us came back to our rooms for some rest. We have another full day planned for tomorrow!
